What is a research cohort?
A research group is the set of examples that meet a fixed rule for a question. Its boundary decides which wider group the result can describe.

Define who enters before checking scores
A class average is meaningful only after the class list is fixed. Adding or removing pupils because of their scores makes the average self-serving.
